**Bookkeeper (Practice Outsourcing Team), Camberley, £28-32K**

A great opportunity to join successful accountancy and business advisory firm who’s business services and outsourcing teams provide a range of accounting, payroll and compliance services to a wide portfolio of clients. This client is based in modern officesin Camberley with parking and is easily accessible.

Relevant Experience:

- Experience gained in public practice (ideally).
- Managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients with a good knowledge of the VAT rules on what can and cannot be claimed as well as being proficient in VAT return preparation and submission.
- Previous experience working in an accounts department or ‘outsourced’ finance function where regular contact is needed with suppliers and customers (and your clients if applicable).
- Experienced of all aspects of the day to day bookkeeping including managing the accounts inbox, purchase and sales ledgers, credit control and bank reconciliations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Preparation of management accounts (2/3 of the role).
- Managing the accounts inbox, dealing with queries, processing of purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, receipting of sales invoices, processing expense claims, prepare and process journals including payroll, and other ad hoc advisory services.
- Prepare VAT returns, understanding VAT requirements, concepts and calculations.
- Strong understanding of key control account postings and reconciliations/treatments around income, fixed assets, payroll, accruals and prepayments.
- Setting up new clients on the bookkeeping system and registering VAT schemes with HMRC.
- Prepare the year end accounting files and ensure they are complete, with back up schedules to support balance sheet figures.
- Ad-hoc advisory services.
- Maintain and build relationships with clients and ensure that all communications are conducted in a professional manner.
- Prepare draft business tax computations.
- Ability to become a champion in specialist areas e.g. software packages, VAT, new client set-up etc.

Qualifications and Systems Experience:

- Knowledge of QuickBooks, Sage, Excel based cash books, IRIS (ideally), Word/ Office etc.
- Able to adapt quickly to new software and navigate between screens and platforms proficiently.
- AAT Qualified Ideally or QBE equivalent. This client may consider someone who has worked in a commercial business accounting environment as long as the skillset is there.

Key skills:

- Good all-round Xero bookkeeping and management accounting experience.
- Friendly and personable with good communications skills.
- Able to work independently and in a supportive team in a busy office environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with the ability to multi-task.
