**Child and** **Young People’s Independent Domestic Violence Advocate**
- **Salary**: £26,000 - £28,000 (pro-rated depending on experience and qualification)
- **Contract**: Fixed Term Contract until August 2024
- **Location**: Gwent wide (Agile working - working flexibly to meet the needs of the young people and the charity. Designated office space in either Newport, Torfaen, Monmouthshire or Blaenau Gwent, role requires regular travel across Gwent.)

**Purpose of the Post**:To provide a person centred, needs led, trauma informed, specialist advocacy service across Gwent, for young people aged 11 - 18, affected by Domestic Abuse and identified as high risk of serious harm.

This service is for young people who have grown up in households where domestic abuse is present, and young people who are/ have experienced violence or threats of violence in their own relationships (intimate or other).

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for holding a case load of young people aged 11 - 18, who have witnessed or have are at high-risk high risk of serious harm in their own relationships.
- To deliver a trauma informed interventions led by the needs, goals and aspirations of the individual young person.
- Work with young people in an empowering, solution focused and individually appropriate engaging manner, building positive relationships based on trust and respect.
- To collaborate with existing young people services within Cyfannol including 1-1, mentoring group and refuge support developing a Young People IDVA service that compliments and enhances existing support and advocacy.
- To positively engage with young people, their families, and associated professionals to regularly assess and develop individually tailored risk assessments, safety plans and support plan.
- To ensure young people have a voice within Cyfannol and the sector, encouraging individuals to give feedback to improve experience and provide opportunities for input into the ideation and development of new services.
- You will build strong relationships internally across Cyfannol, within Children young people services as well as adult domestic abuse services, Sexual violence services such as our ISVA, Counselling and sexual exploitation teams.
- Identify, develop connections and nurture a strong network of local agencies, professionals and forums through which the service is promoted to potential referrers.
- Attend and advocate for young people at multi agency meetings (including MARAC and other child protection related meetings) for the young person.
- Provide practical and emotional support, including advocacy to access wider services (health, CAMHs, education/employment, youth provision, housing & welfare).
- Through support provide information to enhance young people’s understanding of domestic abuse and healthy relationships
- Ensure accurate records are maintained in relation to all aspects of the service, inputting information into the organisations Information Management System and adhering to any any information sharing protocols.
- Have an in depth understanding of Safeguarding policy and process and act on any concerns or information regarding the safeguarding of the children and young people that you come into contact with.
- Demonstrate and promote the organisation’s ethos, vision, and values.
- Contribute to the protection and enhancement of the organisation’s reputation.
- Participate in team meetings, clinical group supervision, supervision, and appropriate training.
- Work within the Cyfannol Women’s Aid’s Policies and Procedures.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required as requested by your line manager.

**The current, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this role.**
