I am recruiting for a Bursars Assistant for a private school in North West London - A Temporary assignment which could possibly lead to a permanent position
**Hours of Work
- **8.00am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday; flexible working hours available
**Holidays
- **Term-time plus 8 weeks (43 weeks)
The school use the ISAMS system for their finances. If you have used a similar or related system, that would be good
**Job Purpose**:
To assist the Bursar in the smooth running of the Bursar’s office with finance, general office administration and organisation of sitemaintenance
Duties will include:
- **Finance and Accountancy**
**Fees**
- Preparing all pupil fee bills including all fees, extras and discounts for parents and entering data onto PASS information management system;
- Reconciling direct debit receipts for fees on PASS and updating the Bursar on a timely basis with summary of outstanding fees;
- Collecting all non-direct debit fee payments and chasing outstanding fees;
- Preparing deposit requests for prospective parents and entering data onto PASS;
- Repaying final deposits to parents when their daughter leaves, or allocating the money to the bursary fund, if donated back to the school;
- Liaising with insurance company regarding pupil numbers and fee insurance.
**Invoicing and Payments**
- Completing paying-in books and banking cheques on a timely basis;
- Entering all receipts onto PASS;
- Ensuring all invoices are entered onto PASS within a day of arrival;
- Timely payment of invoices by BACS or cheque;
- Cancelling cheques/BACS payments where necessary and re-issuing them;
- Renewing the monthly credit card bill and ensuring all entries recorded on PASS.
**Petty Cash**
- Entering all petty cash payments and receipts onto PASS at the end of each week;
- Distributing petty cash where appropriately signed for.
