**We have a great opportunity for a Cost Planner** to join our Pre-Construction team working directly for the Cost Planning Function. The business currently has an exciting pipeline of opportunities across a variety of sectors.

The primary focus of the role is to provide early pre-construction cost planning services for the Construction Business pipeline, by example you will be focused in providing cost advice, typically around RIBA Design Stages 0 to 3. Ensuring that early pricing advice is realistic and robust.

**Key Accountabilities will include**:

- Assisting in the profitability and turnover via the delivery of Regional Workload pipeline.
- The full and accurate production of Cost Plans and Cost Advice covering high value and/or complex projects.
- Cost plan methods tailored to suit project requirements e.g., cost modelling, elemental GIFA, elemental unit quants/rates, approximate quants and Sector analysis to meet the requirements.
- Responsible for preparing tender price and construction price inflation forecasting whilst seeking consistency from the Cost Planning Team generally.
- In support of the Cost Plans, produce benchmarking reports from Wates data sources.
- Responsible for preparing standard cost solutions and assisting in the development of complex and bespoke cost planning solutions to supporting budget targets for Wates and their Clients.
- Ability to identify risk and opportunity data for use in Cost Planning.
- Interpret construction programmes for use in Cost Planning e.g., Phasing, scope alignment etc.
- Attend necessary Meetings internally and externally to execute your role.
- Engage with supply chain partners for specialist pricing advice and or rate validation and the like.
- Change management typically through RIBA Stages 0-3.
- Accountable to Senior Cost Planner, Cost Planning Manager and wider bid teams.

**We are looking for** ideally HNC/HND in construction or Relevant Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction related qualification. As a professional Cost Planner, you will have knowledge of the industry bid processes. Track record in producing accurate cost plans and providing cost advise. A detailed understanding of industry measurement rules e.g., NRM 1. Good understanding of the construction process, technologies and principles. Conversant in the use of specialist industry software.
