We are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to join our school in Doncaster where you will be working with an experienced team and in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA your day will be varied and interesting. As the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA you will have some responsibility to plan and teach a small number of lessons in our unique setting or out in the community, whilst following a flexible approach and supporting our children and young people to unlock their passion for learning. We are looking for someone who is adaptable and hardworking.

1 ACE (Another Chance Education) is our alternative education provision, that works with children and young people who struggle in their formal or specialised education settings, we offer education on an outreach basis or within one of our Ofsted registered schools.

As the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA you will be working within a Trauma informed practice model where we can support and follow a therapeutic practice.

Not only do we source and deliver up to date training opportunities, but we also prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you’re getting the most out of your career. Our young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, we are looking for committed and dedicated people that want to continue their career with a therapeutically based organisation and leading alternative education provision.

About Five Rivers

Five Rivers Child Care is a Social Enterprise who have been turning children’s lives around since 1989.

We offer a range of supportive, safe environments for children and young people whom mainstream and other school settings have not worked. Our Ofsted registered and rated independent schools around England offer a range of academic, vocational, SEN and disabilities (SEND) options.

Our Team at Field Gate School in Fishlake

Field Gate School in Fishlake, Doncaster, is set within a 4 acre rural site. Our school caters for very small class groups of children, promoting social engagement, with a trauma informed approach 1ACE Doncaster is our outreach alternative provision attached to the school for children who are not yet ready to access education in a classroom setting.

We are now a team of around 20 who support and teach our children to become well rounded individuals. We can often be out in the local community, or further afield allowing the pupils the best learning experiences possible. Our team have a range of qualifications and experience which allows us to cater for the pupils needs and wants.

WORKING HOURS

Term Time, this goes in line with the Doncaster local authority

Our full-time hours are 37 hours per week, Monday 8.30am - 5.00pm, Tuesday to Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm and Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm

The role is full time over 5 days per week

**Requirements**:
As the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
Good written and IT skills

Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers

Able to actively listen to others

NQTS or QTS registration

Valid Driving Licence - this is essential for this role

Have the Right to Work in the UK
