This is a full-time role and you'll combine a mix of home and office working to ensure a positive work / life balance. You will be based in our Head Office in Basingstoke and there will be some requirement to travel to Bristol, Basingstoke, and Newbury to visit our commercial properties.

**What you'll be doing**

Sovereign have a mixed portfolio of commercial properties. The income generated from the commercial portfolio supports Sovereign's charitable objectives. You will be responsible for assisting in the management of Sovereign's core commercial portfolio and Sovereign's commercial investment portfolio.

This role will enable you to work collaboratively across peer-groups, Housing and Customer facing functions, Health, Safety and Compliance Teams and Asset Management to influence great outcomes. There will also be an opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of areas such as Development and Property Disposal.

**Your Responsibilities will include**:

- Supporting with the management and re-letting of commercial units, under the direction of the Commercial Property Manager, maintaining positive relations between Sovereign and commercial tenants to benefit the local community.
- Liaising with a team of external lawyers and surveyors to ensure best management practice of the core commercial portfolio, including lease renewals, rent reviews and assignments.
- Ensuring all legal documentation is updated and that an extranet of key legal documents is managed and maintained by our framework solicitors.
- Undertake monthly site visits including, but not limited to taking hand-over of void properties, neighbourhood inspections, and identifying breaches of lease agreements.
- Compiling and maintaining detailed records ensuring Building Safety Regulations are met, including electrical safety, gas safety, legionella, fire risk assessment, LOLER and asbestos management.

**What we need from you**
- Property related, RICS Accredited degree or similar experience.
- Working towards APC or AssocRICS status.
- A genuine interest in property management and experience of working in in this field.
- Experience of working to deadlines.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Demonstrable intermediate or advance IT skills particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Access to a car and full UK driving licence.
