**The purpose of More Than English international summer school is to create educational experiences that will change lives and the world.**

Every summer, teenagers from 20+ countries including Brazil, Ukraine, Mexico, Italy, Germany, Spain and France travel to our campus in Ludlow. Our study travel programme comprises:

- **Subjects**: including English Language (**mornings**)
- **Specialisms**: from Performing Arts to Pro-Sports (**afternoons**)
- **Social**: comprising activities, events and excursions (**late afternoon**, **evenings**, weekends)

As a member of our team of **Activity Leaders**, you will be delivering the **Social **component of the programme. What makes our programme magical is the mix of nationalities and the fact that all the teenagers travel independently to the UK: not as part of a group. This, means that students integrate and form new friendships that will last a lifetime. With only 65 students on campus, we a create a family atmosphere enabling students to gain confidence away from home and to step outside their comfort zone.

**Summary**:
The role of Activity Leader is key to the success of the school. Activity Leaders plan and deliver excursions and activities for students. These have important educational value connected with gaining confidence in using English, learning about the UK and learning to communicate across cultures.

Excursions and activities are also key to the students having lots of fun and having a summer experience that they will never forget. A great excursion and activity programme that fully engages students and which they all participate in means a positive atmosphere contributing hugely to a successful summer school.

The key to successful activities and excursions is planning, creative thinking and the ability to act in a professional but friendly way with students aged 12-17. It is essential the Activity Leaders see ‘the big picture’ on summer school and work closely with other teams to ensure a safe, educational and fun experience for students.

**How we support you**:

- 2-day induction including first-aid training
- Weekly training session
- Support from experienced management team
- Competitive salary: £445 a week including 12.07% holiday pay
- (Programme Assistant: £395 a week)
- 50% (£25) contribution to your DBS check
- Boarding and Lodging on campus included
- Free access to sports facilities including swimming pool

**Main Duties**:

- Deliver a programme of Club Time & Weekend activities and Events
- Design new activities
- Lead excursions

**General Duties**:

- Support House Parents in supervision of the residences & creating a safe & secure environment
- Airport transfers

Scheduled working hours do not exceed 48 hours over a 6-day week. All staff benefit from 1 day off a week.

**Dates 2023**
- Thursday July 6**:Staff induction**: on campus from 0930
- Friday July 7**:Staff induction**: on campus from 0930
- Saturday July 8**:Arrival** **of first students**:

- Saturday July 29**:Last working day of 3-week contract**:

- Saturday August 5**:Last working day of 4-week contract**:

- A small number of staff will be required for 2 extra days: London Weekend (5) 6, 7 August.
