IT Support Engineer, Headington, £18ph PAYE/£180 day Umbrella. Initial 6 month contract
My client are an exciting research based organisation and are seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide 1st/2nd line desktop & Audio-Visual support.
You will be responsible for all first line/second line support issues, such as: setting up new computers/Macs and installing required software; monitoring the helpdesk and promptly responding to tickets; and providing approachable direct assistance to usersin their understanding of these systems and maximising their potential.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Ensure that AV/IT support requests are acknowledged promptly and accurately
- Responsible for the installation and configuration of all new computers, including encrypting all mobile devices, and ensuring that users are properly briefed on the use of new and existing devices.
- Perform security updates and backups on the hosted servers
- Write clear technical documentation
- Design and build new virtual machines
- Administer Apple MDM systems (JAMF)
- Experience in setting up/supporting Audio Visual equipment (MS teams devices & Crestron)
- Extensive experience of configuring and troubleshooting Windows/Mac OS
- Experience in supporting Apple devices (Macbook, iMac, iPhone, iPad)
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint)
- Good interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to provide high quality customer service/support to users.
- Excellent communication skills, being able to explain complex technical problems to all members with varying level of IT expertise
- Able to prioritise and manage own workload
- Ability to work independently and without direct supervision but also as part of a team with a broad range of people
