**Job Purpose**

To operationally support and coordinate Age UK Sunderland’s KIT services as part of our Front Door Service. The post holder will recruit, train and coordinate established volunteers to provide telephone calls and visits to older people in their homes to reduce loneliness and isolation.

The post holder will also be responsible for overseeing the ongoing development and expansion of the service to maximise service provision to socially isolated older people in Sunderland.

To support the recruitment, coordination and training of the project volunteers for the KIT service.

To coordinate and monitor the volunteers to ensure service standards are met and targets are achieved

To monitor the project and support the provision of detailed written reports/summaries as required

To effectively promote and market the KIT service

To provide support and coordination to the KIT volunteers in the operational delivery of the face to face and telephone befriending KIT service

To monitor and review the standards of the service ensuring continuous improvement.

To conduct home assessments to potential KIT clients to ensure they are linked appropriately with the right volunteer

To keep accurate records of clients and volunteers accessing the KIT service within the Charity Log database in line with AUKS policies and procedures

Liaise appropriately with external agencies working collaboratively to establish professional working relationships to access appropriate referrals and risk assessments for the project

Investigate and implement new and innovative technologies to achieve service efficiency and quality

Comply with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

To act as a Safeguarding alerter

To abide by and implement all policies and procedures of Age UK
Sunderland, including being aware of and responsible corporately and as an individual for Health and Safety policy

**Essential Criteria**

Understanding of and empathy of the needs and aspirations of older people

Must have a strong commitment to achieving outcomes for older people who are lonely and isolated

Ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload

Experience of adherence to KPI targets and risk registers.

Experience of the monitoring and evaluation of projects.

Report writing skills which incorporate data inputting.

Experience of recruiting and coordinating volunteers.

Have experience of supporting and motivating volunteers.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Experience of developing and expanding service provision.

Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.

Have a flexible approach to work.

Work well independently and as part of a team

Have complete discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Educated to NVQ Level 3 level or relevant working experience.

Possess a full driving license and have access to a car for work purposes.
