**CONSULTANT IN HAEMATOLOGY WITH A SPECIALIST INTEREST IN MALIGNANT HAEMATOLOGY**

Applications are invited for this less than full time Consultant Haematology post based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. This post will involve close working with a less than full time colleague and is for 7 Programmed Activities per week.

The Haematology department has 5 Specialty Trainee posts and two Specialty Doctor posts.

The post holder will take part in the on-call rota for the adult Haematology service, and will cover the Haematology inpatients in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, provide advice to colleagues in primary and secondary care, and cover the Haematology laboratory (this will be 1 in 8 with prospective cover).

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary serves a population of approximately 640,000 and is located at the Foresterhill site, together with the University of Aberdeen Medical School, Aberdeen and North East Scotland Transfusion Centre, Roxburghe House, Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. The dedicated Haematology inpatient unit opened in 2013 and comprises 23 beds. The Haematology outpatient department and day therapy unit were refurbished in early 2010. A new combined Haematology and Oncology outpatient and day therapy facility, the ANCHOR centre, is due to open in 2024 and will be immediately adjacent to the new Radiotherapy unit on the Foresterhill site.

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Haematology or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.

Alternatively, applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).
