Design, in this case, refers to functional design, interaction design and information architecture design. This role does not involve visual design. To succeed in this role you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

**Analysis workshops**:
The primary technique used to gather requirements at Geeks is the Analysis Workshop. In discussion with client stakeholders, solution designers elicit requirements, map business processes, create use case diagrams, and develop user journeys. The aim of this is to define a solution for the client’s requirements in the form of a low fidelity prototype that outlines the scope, functionality and time/cost of a product to be developed. As a trainee you will be expected to support a senior/lead designer in workshops by taking notes, asking pertinent questions and assisting with the creation of a prototype.

**Continuous professional development**:
In this process of shadowing, and by completing case studies, you will learn how to elicit requirements and capture them using our prototyping tool visual spec.
Knowledge of business software development is gained through online resources and internal training sessions. This knowledge underpins the practice of solution design, so that in future you will be confident in discussion with client stakeholders and able to suggest ways of automating business processes.

**Responsibilities**

**This is a dynamic role with a diverse set of responsibilities, including the following**:

- Learning how to gather business requirements for bespoke software using analysis workshops
- Creating low fidelity wireframes
- Learning the basics of object oriented languages
- Cultivating broad knowledge of business terminology, for example: EBITDA, Margin, turnover, market share, overheads, ROI etc
- Learning the principles of user centred design
- Learning the Geeks approach, and where the BA team fits in the process

**Required experience / qualifications**
- **Degree Educated** - You need to ideally have a degree in business, law or history
- **Professional work experience** - You need to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in a business-related field.
