An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Procurement & Supplies Department at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, on a temporary fixed term contract for an 18 month initial period.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic procurement professional to undertake the role of Senior Buyer, covering various category areas for goods and services, obtaining best value for money and compliance on non-pay expenditure.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with EU Procurement directives, for which you will have demonstrable experience, and the Trust’s Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions. You will be part of a dedicated team of procurement professionals responsible for tendering, negotiating and managing a variety of business critical commercial contracts, that are robust, cost efficient and effective.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all non pay expenditure team is fully compliant, providing an expert advisory service, whilst contributing towards the Trusts challenging cash releasing savings target. You will be capable of building strong stakeholder relationships to deliver outcomes that support delivery of the Trusts strategic objectives, and be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and organisational skills.

To provide a proactive, efficient and responsive procurement service, with particular emphasis on procuring value for money products and services contracts, generating non-pay savings for the Trust in accordance with cost efficiency targets. To adhere to EU legislation and Trust Standing Financial Instructions, whilst awarding robust, compliant contracts with relevant and manageable KPI’s.

This post holds responsibility for undertaking complex and high value procurements and associated contract negotiations on behalf of the Trust. The post will also be expected to work collaboratively with Procurement colleagues across the Northamptonshire STP as appropriate.
