**Job Description**:
The Ruskin Mill Trust Group operates five colleges and associated residential provisions in Nailsworth, Stourbridge, Sheffield, Birmingham, and Pembrokeshire, as well as independent specialist schools in Worcestershire, Bristol, Sheffield and Darlington. Through our research led method _of_ _Practical Skills Therapeutic Education we_ provide innovative and experiential education for children and young people with special learning needs, developed out of the inspiration of Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin.

**Deputy Chief Financial Officer**

Competitive salary available **£68,000 to £75,000** dependent on qualifications, skills and experience

This post will be based at our site in Nailsworth, near Stroud, Gloucestershire.

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Chief Financial Officer. The successful applicant will be expected to embrace, articulate and work with the Trust’s objectives, vision, values, purpose and method, ensuring that the Trust’s paradigm of biodynamic agriculture, Anthroposophical medicine and practical skills education, which is informed by Steiner Education, is maintained, implemented and integrated within the provision of the Colleges, Schools and the Trust as a whole.

In this exciting, newly created role you will be required to contribute to the whole life of the Schools, Colleges and Charitable Trust, always remembering that our core purpose is to improve the education and lives of the young people at all of the Trust’s provisions.

In this role you will;
- deputise for the Chief Financial Officer in periods of absence;
- build exceptional relationships and work with Provision Leaders and Directors of Schools/Colleges to ensure action plans are in place that ensure financial security across each Provision.
- build and develop spreadsheet models to assist forecasting;
- complete the monthly management accounts of all entities and assemble data into a central financial reporting pack;
- complete all monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
- maintain an overview of all ledgers for all entities;
- support the delivery of the annual statutory financial statements for the Trust and its subsidiaries;
- meet the year end timetable for delivery of reconciliations and support audit schedule;

A high level of personal resilience coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to align functional and operational objectives with those of the organisation would be a distinct advantage.
