We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer or Indirect Buyer to join our team, with the passion and ability to progressively develop. As a pivotal member of our procurement team, you will be integral to the acquisition of non-production goods and services within the manufacturing and automotive sector.

**Responsibilities**:

- Liaise with the external procurement team conducting market research specific to the automotive and manufacturing industry to identify optimal suppliers
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, understanding and addressing their unique procurement needs
- Execute strategic negotiations with suppliers, emphasizing favourable terms for the company
- Foster and maintain robust relationships with automotive-focused vendors, ensuring seamless communication and partnership
- Evaluate and implement cost-effective procurement strategies while adhering to quality standards
- Enhance overall efficiency in the procurement process, focusing on streamlining procedures
- Maintain and attain to procurement activities within SAP
- Always look to challenge Status Quo and continually improve process and cost.

**Additional Responsibilities
- Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, providing insights to enhance procurement strategies
- Contribute to the development of supplier diversity initiatives within the Astemo portfolio
- Monitor and assess supplier performance, recommending improvements and ensuring compliance with automotive industry regulations
- Assist in the development of risk management strategies.

**Qualifications and experience
- Preferable higher education in Business, Supply Chain Management, but not essential
- Preferred experience in indirect procurement within a manufacturing sector
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work and make decision using data and analytics
- Excellent prioritisation and organisation
- Experience of using software packages, Microsoft, SAP
- Self starter and ability to learn quickly and efficiently
