Our holistic post-16 Study programme is highly effective at supporting our learners to make progress from their starting points, which for many of our cohort is considerable. A significant proportion of Humankind learners have additional needs and barriers, their prior attainment is low, and learners have often had difficult experiences of education. Learners come to Humankind to gain qualifications, especially in maths and English, to help them move towards future employment; and/or to develop their independent living skills.**100% of learners said**

**Summary of role**
As a Humankind Teaching Assistant within this role you will:

- Plan and deliver a selection of interventions to small groups of learners
- Work with class teachers to raise the attainment of learners
- Promote learners’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
- Provide support to learners, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, engage in learning and experience a sense of achievement
- Support learners with Educational Health Care Plans, in line with their educational programmes.
- Contribute to effective assessment and planning by supporting the monitoring, recording and reporting of learner performance and progress as required
- Use allocated time to devise clearly structured activities that interest and motivate learners and progress their learning
- To provide cover for colleagues when required
- Provide high quality learning resources for all students though the use of adaptations and differentiation
- Liaise with parents/carers/outside agencies where appropriate
- Communicate their knowledge and understanding of learners to other school staff and education, health and social care professionals, so that informed decision making can take place on intervention and provision
- You will be responsible for the safeguarding learners and adhering to Humankinds Safeguarding polices.
- Provide our learners with learning opportunities that aspire to be outstanding and adhere to those standards within the common inspection framework.
