Inverness, United Kingdom Highland & Islands Airports Limited Full time

We have an exciting opportunity to join a Procurement Team within the aviation industry as we commence an ambitious journey of procurement transformation to better buying across 11 regional airports - improving our active management of expenditure to support sustainable procurement and reduce complexity, cost and risk in the supply chain.

Procurement has been recognised by Scottish Government Ministers as playing a key part in delivering Scotland’s economic strategy, focussed on sustainable economic growth and delivering better outcomes for Scotland. The HIAL Procurement Strategy 2021-26 provides a targeted transformational approach in support of our corporate mission to ‘create social benefit and economic prosperity by building Scotland’s sustainable regional airport group of the future; reinforced by our vision to become a net-zero carbon regional airport group’.

The role will support the delivery of the procurement strategic aims which are key enablers of the company’s strategic objectives. The core pillars of the procurement strategy are:

- Support the delivery of ‘Net-Zero’ targets and local and national economic recovery through sustainable procurement
- Support service delivery through strategic commissioning
- Support added value and cost savings through “better buying” procurement
- Increase the efficiency of procurement processes through digitalisation
- Reduce supply chain risk through strengthening key supplier relationships.

The role will:

- Implement a category management approach to procurement, working closely with airport operational and corporate staff to proactively co-ordinate and plan procurement activities within certain sectors of the business;
- Provide procurement advice and lead on all regulated and non-regulated procurement activities for a wide range of works, goods and services, ensuring the company continues to comply with public procurement legislation;
- Provide expertise to the business in preparing, negotiating and administering all contracts for the procurement of goods, works, and services across HIAL’s 11 airports and head office;
**Closing date for applicants is midnight 2nd May 2023.**

Whilst the base for the role is Head Office (at Inverness Airport), and there will be a requirement to attend Head Office on occasion, we have a flexible approach to working and can consider home working for applicants based at any of our 11 airport locations.
