Pod Talent are excited to continue our partnership with an exciting food supplier based in East London. Our client work with some of the countries largest retailers supplying products that are sourced under fairtrade contracts.

They are looking for a Technical Manager to come in and cover for maternity leave, the contract will be a minimum of 9 months with the potential of it being extended to 12. This is a unique opportunity to gain some very valuable experience in a smaller companyand build on your existing skill set.

The role
- This role sitting within the technical team reports directly into the MD and has no direct reports. As a technical manager you have the main responsibility for technical/quality matters with potentially some NPD involved as well.

Responsibilities include--Overseeing technical/quality strategy making sure everything is being monitored and kept afloat
- Managing relationships with suppliers/co packers ensuring that correct procedures and processes are being followed
- Auditing including conducting internal audits as client are BRC accredited
- Working closely with operations team in regard to continuous improvement of overall processes
- Potential involvement in NPD activities if required
- Various other adhoc duties

Skills/Experience --Previous experience in a quality/technical role within food
- Knowledge of food/food safety
- Previous experience auditing and working with quality management systems
- IRCA auditing qualification or equivalent
- HACCP Level 3 or above qualified
- Desirable to have a passion for fairtrade
- Strong organisational skills with a great logic when it comes to problem solving
