- You will work with school staff, external agencies, parents and carers, plus the child to understand the internal barriers to learning, improve their attendance and emotional wellbeing and help to prepare them for future education and life. As Children’s Mentor, you will also ensure the most disadvantaged pupils have full access to the educational and extended school opportunities that we have available.
- In the first instance the role will focus on working with small groups of children with a focus on supporting behaviour and play. An understanding of play and nurture-based approaches to developing children’s behaviour and supporting emotional regulation is required. Experience working with multiple ages across primary school would be an advantage.
- Are you calm, approachable, personable, fair, flexible, organised, open-minded, with a good sense of humour?
- Do you combine good time management skills with excellent inter-personal skills so that you can prioritise and plan your time to meet the needs of children and families effectively?
- Have you got experience of working with external agencies to improve the lives of children and families?
- The Role:

- X5 days a week
- Working alongside the current Children’s Mentor
- Willing to be trained to meet the needs of the children in our care
