**Maintenance Assistant - Doncaster**
**Location**:Holiday Inn Doncaster A1 (M), Jct.36, High Road, Doncaster, DN4 9UX
**Salary**: £26,000 to £28,000 per annum
**Hours**: 40 hours per week (flexibility is required depending on business needs)
**Job Type**: Full time, permanent
Holiday Inn Doncaster is a modern hotel in the quiet village of Warmsworth, three miles from Doncaster centre. Set in landscaped gardens, this Doncaster hotel is a Yorkshire home from home.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team on a full time, permanent basis.
We are looking for a positive individual who is proactive, has a can-do attitude, is well-organised, has excellent communication skills and is able to build strong professional relationships.
This position is critical in ensuring the smooth, efficient and safe operation of the hotel. Therefore, previous experience in a similar role is essential to be considered.
**About the role**:
- Painting and decorating, general carpentry, basic electrics and basic plumbing
- Take ownership in attending to emergency maintenance calls from all departments, ensuring all jobs are prioritised and completed
- Ensure that all appliances, fixtures and fittings are safe to use, in accordance with Health and Safety regulations
- Complete regular machinery testing and maintenance on the hotel’s machines and equipment
- To keep work areas clean and tidy at all times and use signage provided by the hotel
- Regularly check external areas for any potential danger to people on site
- To work well alongside other departments and other colleagues within the department, to ensure the smooth running of the hotel
- Conduct regular checks to ensure our hotel is both safe and functional for our guests
- Must be able to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
**About you**:
- Previous experience in a similar position is essential to be considered
- Knowledge and experience of basic maintenance tasks including decorating, plumbing and electrics
- A real desire to deliver true hospitality
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences at all time
- Ability to multi task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
- Able to build a natural rapport with people of all different backgrounds and abilities
