As a consequence of internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity for an Heavy goods Mechanic to join our team.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with the ability to work under their own initiative, the Workshop is a busy environment working on our own fleet of trucks and trailers and is essential to the smooth operation of Baxter's.

The position is a full-time, permanent role covering the hours of 08.00 - 17.00 hours Monday to Friday and 7 am - 12 pm on a Saturday rota.

As an LGV Mechanic, you will be based in a busy workshop environment where you will be required to undertake all levels of maintenance and repairs as well as diagnostics.
- Maintaining and repairing vehicles and trailers in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current legislation
- Routine vehicle maintenance to VOSA/DVSA standards
- Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for an annual MOT inspection
- Good housekeeping routines to meet health & safety requirements and maintain a safe workplace
- Ensure all paperwork is completed to a high standard
- Utilise all personal protective equipment as necessary
- Experience in working on a wide range of modern heavy commercial vehicles and trailers is ideal.

Desirable criteria
- CAT C or C & E License
- Knowledge of electrics and hydraulics would be an advantage
- Knowledge of Welding and Fabrication would be beneficial.

**Salary**: £34,000.00-£46,000.00 per year
