Novum Structures is a leading specialist design, manufacturing, and installation company that provides integrated structural glass, steel, and ETFE solutions.

This is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months.

In this role, you will be responsible for the procurement function for Novum projects, including technical buying. You will work closely with the Project delivery team and Design team on UK and International projects. You will also be responsible for ensuring the quality requirements for goods, working to project delivery deadlines and budgets, and procuring stock and overhead items as and when needed.

Your other responsibilities will include:

- Raising purchase orders and assisting in the resolution of any disputes with suppliers
- Arranging, procuring, and coordinating plant and equipment hire for projects
- Sending out enquiries for materials and plant requirements, and collating and reviewing quotations
- Evaluating submitted quotations using objective criteria
- Processing all incoming invoices from Accounts which do not align with purchase order values
- Supporting with logistics, ensuring it is managed efficiently and in the most cost-effective way
- Ensuring that quantities and quality of procured goods are delivered according to the contractual agreements and take appropriate actions to address any shortfall/excess or quality issues
- Resolving any issues with invoices prior to approval
- Tracking and managing supplier delivery schedules to ensure expected delivery times are met and supply issues are resolved quickly
- Working closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure optimal stock levels and assist with stock takes
- Consistently reviewing and updating Supplier and Subcontractor databases, keeping accurate and up-to-date records of information, including completing annual insurance checks
- Operating and promoting the use of IT systems for purchasing and inventory control and dealing effectively with any queries
- Growing our supplier base by identifying new suppliers and negotiating the most competitive terms and prices, whilst maintaining agreed levels of product quality
- Using negotiation practice for delivering value based on evaluation and selection criteria
- Undertaking thorough due diligence on suppliers, including checking UK sanctions lists, financial performance/risk, insurance status and corporate social responsibility requirements
- Reviewing existing supplier terms and rates on a rolling basis to ensure competitive terms and prices are obtained
- Ensuring contracts for the supply of goods comply with relevant legislation
- Holding regular review meetings with key suppliers to discuss delivery and quality performance
- Identifying any potential bribery, corruption and fraud in the supply chain and escalating suspected cases to senior management
- Identifying any potential concerns of modern slavery in the supply chain and escalating to senior management
- Developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures, written procedures and Service Level Agreements for Procurement, in line with corporate governance and other legislative responsibilities
- Advising other staff members on how to comply with processes for sourcing goods
- Providing short-term holiday/absence cover for the Warehouse Manager when required
- Taking on any other responsibilities or tasks that are within the post holders’ skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
- Adhering to the company Health & Safety policy and ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety standards and regulations
