**Nutritional Assistant**

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our ward teams in The Friarage hospital as a nutritional assistants on the Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU).

Nutrition and hydration are essential for health and quality of life. Adequate food and drink can help people recover from illness and surgery, remain independent, reduce their length of stay in hospital and help to avoid re admission to hospital.

You will assist the qualified nurses and contribute to support, assist monitor and educate our patients, their families and carers with their nutrition and hydration needs. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and report to the nurse in charge to ensure individual needs are met in a relaxed environment conducive to dining maintaining dignity and respect.

**Development**

Delivering top quality services depends on our ability to recruit and retain good staff. A vital part of this is ensuring that we support your career progression. Your training as a nutritional assistant will include basic skills in health and you will work towards the Care Certificate.

You will learn whilst you earn a regular wage and gain on-the-job experience.
