**CARER SKILLS**

**Patience**: Dog Daycare Carers often need patience to deal with the various personalities of the dogs they care for. Some dogs may be more energetic than others, and the attendant may need to be patient when trying to handle them.

**Attention to detail**: Dog Daycare Carers need to pay attention to detail when monitoring the behaviour of dogs and ensuring that the dogs are safe and welfare/ disease control is maintained. They need to be able to notice if a dog is getting too excited or if a dog is getting hurt. They also need to pay attention to detail when monitoring the dogs’ health whilst also making sure areas are clean and dogs are picked up after.

**Physical stamina**: Dog Daycare Carers may be on their feet for long periods of time. They may also need to lift and carry dogs, so physical stamina is important for this job.
