Fire Glass UK Ltd is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers, suppliers and glaziers of fire and acoustic glass, and is looking to appoint factory labourers at their Midlands branch:
Factory labourers for both morning, afternoon and day shifts, Monday to Friday. To assist in a busy glass warehouse in the preparation of float, laminated and toughened glasses.

Job will include heavy lifting, manual handling, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

The successful applicant would also receive training in different aspects of the glass trade with the opportunity to learn a new skill set and progress within the company.

**Responsibilities**:
**The successful applicant must posses the below skills and experience**:

- Loading and unloading of material either into store or across the site. This will involve manual handling of heavy and/or awkward objects.
- Maintain company vehicles, and material handling equipment in safe and good working condition.
- Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner, complying with company policies, procedures and instructions at all times.
- Operate and maintain relevant machinery.
- Package materials and products in accordance with specified standards.
- Drive company vehicles to transfer goods/materials.
- Maintain the work area, clean, safe and organised.
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
- Assist with production control process.
- Assist with product quality control process.
- Control goods inwards and outwards.
- Load and unload goods/materials to and from trailers.
- Perform routine facility inspection including electrical and mechanical maintenances.
- Contribute to improving the business, protecting and enhancing the reputation of the company, by putting forward new ideas and, when requested to do so, implementing change.
- Comply with the company’s policies and procedures as set out within the Employee Handbook, Accreditations Manual (including Best Practice Quality Guide) and the Health and Safety Manual, as updated from time to time.
- Comply with the requirements for the role as set out within the company’s Integrated Management System (currently comprising of the Quality Management System, Environmental Management System and the Health and Safety Management System), as updated from time to time.
- Comply with the requirements of any Core Duties or other relevant procedural or policy document applicable to your role.
- The post holder must also undertake other duties within his/her competence or otherwise appropriate to the grading of the post as required.
