**Background**

Performing planned and reactive, mechanical, electrical, and building fabric maintenance activities across university buildings, facilities, and wider estate.

The Estates Maintenance Stores supply critical spares to provide planned and reactive maintenance and repairs to a large and diverse campus. The campus covers 672 acres, with over 200 buildings of different ages and levels of maintenance. As well as providing critical spares for the main campus the estates maintenance stores supply the critical spares required for the university student residences.

**Role Summary**

To provide a stores service for the Estates department supplying colleagues with the materials they require in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner. This involves the day-to-day running of the Stores including issuing stock, data entry, re-ordering, monitoring turnover, identifying new or redundant lines. It will involve receiving deliveries for Estates including non-stock items.

The post will involve close contact with the Estates Supply Manager, supporting the Manager to resolve outstanding issues. Health and Safety awareness in keeping the working and public areas safe always is essential.

**Main Duties**
- Raising and processing of orders for both stock and non-stock materials. Issue and receipt of parts and materials to customers.
- Raise stock replenishment orders daily to maintain stock levels with an annual turnover and stock value of £250k plus.
- Issuing stores items to members of Estates. Advising customers on the requirements from stores and offering alternative solutions if the item is not stocked.
- Resolving problems and queries with customers and suppliers associated with the acquisition or delivery of goods and materials.
- Monitoring stores item turnover to ensure that stock level meets with demand and to alter and refine the minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Receiving deliveries of stock Items and checking and signing for the delivery goods. Identifying and notifying the intended recipient. Storing the delivery in a safe manner for collection.
- Obtaining a signature from the recipient on collection; filing/receipting delivery notes.
- Receipting goods on both the Estates CAFM system (Planon) and the University procurement system Core systems by Oracle fusion.
- Chase and resolve issues with maintenance on incorrect works orders.
- Health and safety with stores operations such as manual handling techniques in absence of mechanical aid and basic understanding of chemical safety and storage.
