Job Title - Criminal Justice Senior Resilience Worker

Service: North Wales Integrated Criminal Justice Service - Dechrau Newydd

**Hours**:Full Time 37.5 hours normal working hours 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday with some weekend and evening working as per rota delivery

**Salary**: £27,000 per annum

**Based at**:Gwynedd and Ynys Mon

**Background to the Service**

Dechrau Newydd has been commissioned to deliver an Integrated Substance Misuse Service by North Wales Police Crime Commissioner (PCC) and Her Majesties Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS).

Dechrau Newydd aims to engage substance-misusing offenders and support them to reduce offending, improve their health and social functioning, engage with multi agency support, and make sustainable lifestyle changes.

The service will work closely with current community providers to ensure transfer of care from prison services, community treatment and into wider recovery support.

Dechrau Newydd will provide Opiate Substitute Therapy (Methadone/Buprenorphine - Espranor, and Buvidal) for 12 weeks after release from prison, and to individuals who have been sentenced to a Drug Rehabilitation Requirement. The service will offer dedicated assessment and interventions, care co-ordination, recovery care planning, group activities, health and wellbeing, harm reduction, recovery, and mutual aid services to those involved within the Criminal Justice system.

Dechrau Newydd is delivered in partnership by Kaleidoscope Project and Adferiad Recovery. Adferiad Recovery is a Living Wage Employer.

**Role Purpose**:
The Criminal Justice Senior will be expected to support the Recovery and Resilience Manager, Kaleidoscope Head of Operations or other central services manager as directed to ensure supervisory role is undertaken for all front-line staff within their locality area and to support supervision and delivery of staff across the North Wales region.

The post-holder will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and directly delivering a full range of interventions to individuals involved with Criminal Justice services in their locality. Criminal Justice workers undertake a range of functions including assessment, report writing, brief advice, harm reduction and delivery of substance misuse psychosocial interventions, working closely with Prisons, the Police and Probation Services. The post holder will also ensure equitable access for all service users within their locality to health and wellbeing and recovery focused interventions.

The post-holder will also oversee and ensure expectations are met around the assessment, recommendation, delivery, and review of statutory orders such as Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR) and Alcohol Treatment Requirements including clinical liaison and assisting with the transfer of care between clinical providers. You will also provide interventions to assist with the delivery of out of court disposal orders including supporting Checkpoint Diversion Scheme, community supervision orders and post release licencing conditions. As senior worker you will lead on developing effective relationships with these partners in your locality and work closely with colleagues delivering non-criminal justice elements of the substance misuse treatment within North Wales.

The post-holder will ensure that quality services are delivered to substance misusing service users, ensuring that high professional standards are maintained, output targets achieved, and that the service works within established administrative and reporting procedures.

The post-holder will also be involved in the delivery of substance misuse focussed training to external criminal justice staff such as police, custody staff, magistrates etc and will be involved in delivering presentations about the service to external partners.

The post holder will be expected to carry a case load of Criminal Justice Service Users within their locality.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Administration**:

- Enter data onto the case management system, PalBase; Probation and Police systems as required
- Carry out governance audits and contribute to the review and development of service provider
- To adhere to health and safety, vetting, and security procedures/polices as directed by the partnership and commissioning bodies
- Compile reports on attendance, engagement and recovery from substance use, and submit accurate and reflective assessments for court and probation consideration

**Professional Development**
- To participate in continuous learning, development, and appraisal process
- To make regular use of management supervision
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current developments in professional practice and of relevant legislation and policies
- Support, supervise and develop peer led service delivery and volunteering across the service

**Service Delivery and Development**
- Support and co-ordinate with clinical leads in the delivery of an Integrated Criminal Justice Service
