**Accounts Assistant**

**The Role**

Using your experience and excellent organisational skills you will provide finance related support to the Management Accounts team in the production, management and reconciliation of various ledgers. You will also liaise with other members of the Accounts department as required to ensure a high standard of overall service provision is achieved.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:
**Credit control**
- Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting debt, evaluating new credit requests, and reviewing existing customer’s payment record and credit rating. Preparing statements, client status reports and any other relevant information as required
- **
Purchase Ledger**:

- Ensuring all purchase invoices are logged on the invoice register and uploaded accurately and in a timely fashion to coins and syrinx, distributing invoices as required for appropriate authorisation and querying incorrect prices with buyers, ensuring the query is fully dealt with
- **
Prepare bank statement reconciliation to ensure that fundamental controls are adhered **to**:

- Recording reconciliation activities onto appropriate systems and monitoring, tracking, and recording activities on the bank account to ensure that system balances match to actual bank statement balances
- **
Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations**:

- Reviewing balance sheets on a monthly basis to present to the Finance Manager, ensuring that unreconciled items are identified and escalated further if necessary
- **
Administrative support within MA team**:

- Providing appropriate assistance to the Finance Manager in all aspects of overhead control, preparing and inputting monthly journals and all allocated tasks pertaining to month end and ad-hoc requirements
- AAT qualification
- Experience in a finance or accountancy function.
- Strong IT literacy skills, specifically Excel and accounting software packages
- Experience of managing bank postings and reconciliations
- A creative and dynamic approach to problem solving with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work successfully as part of a team or independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple internal customer demands
