Liaise and provide effective communication with departmental managers and clinical staff to ensure good professional links with the academic and practice environment. Ensure continuity of student training and facilitate achievement of objectives outlined for each level of competence for the BSc Radiography curriculum. Facilitate the opportunity for students to achieve optimum clinical experience in the practice area appropriate to the modules they are studying and their level of learning. Plan, design and implement appropriate induction programme for new students.

Liaise inter-professionally to organise hospital wide learning experiences for student placements in other areas of the hospital. Work collaboratively Supervise and teach students radiography practice in conjunction with qualified radiographers to ensure a high standard of professionalism and patient care. Ensure the welfare of patients, visitors and staff is safeguarded according to the Trusts departmental health and safety at work policies. Design, prepare and deliver a tutorial programme to links the theory taught at the University of Suffolk.

Use effective communication skills, to deal with sensitive, contentious and confidential situations utilising persuasive, motivational and empathetic skills. Provide pastoral support to students on personal and professional matters during practice placements. Signpost and refer students for support at the University of Suffolk when appropriate.
