The Older Adults Community Mental Health Service is comprised of the the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and the Memory Service. They are an inclusive, dynamic, supportive, and friendly team who pride themselves on the care they give to all patients.

The service is very busy with clinics held Monday to Friday in Memorial Hospital, Greenwich. The clinicians also attend nursing homes, care homes, and undertake home visits for housebound patients.

You will be required to use your own initiative and possess some degree of flexibility. You must have a caring attitude and always maintain confidentiality.

You will be based in Memorial Hospital, Shooters Hill, Greenwich SE18 3RG. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010.

We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our Community Older Adults Mental Health Service in Greenwich.

This is a busy and varied role; you will be providing administration support to the CMHT and Memory Service. You should have excellent communication skills, verbal, listening and written, as you will be liaising with clients, carers, GP’s and other professionals with regard to administrative duties.

Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise work are essential, as you will be setting up and maintaining office processes and procedures and managing conflicting deadlines. You must be able to respond to urgent referrals and messages and booking appointments.

Experience of Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, is essential.

Experience of using RiO or other patient information systems would be an advantage, although full training will be given to the successful applicants.

- To provide an administrative and clerical service to the Older Adults Community Mental Health Service in Greenwich.
- Processing new referrals and information, recording of appropriate data using the Oxleas RiO electronic system to its full functionality for the service.
- To liaise with internal and external agencies, for example IT, on behalf of the team to facilitate the resolution of problems in relation to equipment used by the team (eg, telephone, computer, printer, and internet access and so on).
- Respond to incoming calls and deal with enquiries in accordance with management procedures. Record all messages accurately ensuring appropriate action is taken and messages passed to the relevant discipline/clinician. Use initiative in finding appropriate clinician for advice if required staff member is absent.
