**Education Programme Coordinator**

Mayflower Theatre is the largest theatre on the South Coast with 2,271 seats in the auditorium. The Theatre’s aim is to bring a diverse range of shows to Southampton. We present a mixture of spectacular touring productions, from musicals to dance, opera, drama, ballet and comedy.

MAST Mayflower Studios is a cultural and community hub. We present family shows, dance, musicals, music, comedy, circus, cabaret, spoken word, and visual arts. We put participation at the heart of everything we do.

Both the Theatre and Studios operate under the Mayflower brand. Collectively we provide Inspiring Experiences to all who engage with each venue.

As Education Programme Coordinator, you will join a large participation team and coordinate a range of theatre engagement projects for schools at Mayflower Theatre & MAST Mayflower Studios. You provide administrative, facilitation and project support to the participation department, and particularly the Education Programme.

**Creative Schools**

Our Creative Schools programme engages primary, secondary, further education colleges and universities with our theatre programme. At least 60% of our work is delivered with the most disadvantaged schools in Southampton and surrounding areas. We will work in partnership with a range of companies and partners who visit our theatres. Access, a creative curriculum, and insight into industry careers is a key focus of our work. We also deliver subsidised ticket schemes and teacher professional development opportunities.

What are we looking for in our Education Programme Coordinator?

**Essential**
- Up to 1 years’ experience of delivering drama/theatre workshops with children or young people
- Has previous experience of administrating and co-ordinating arts-based projects
- Has a good understanding of the school curriculum (primary & drama in secondary)
- Has excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure
- Be a self-starter
- Flexible approach
- Be proficient in Microsoft packages inc. word, excel and outlook
- Experience in monitoring and reporting against budgets, and in ongoing evaluation and reporting on projects

**Desirable**
- Has previous experience of working in a theatre venue
- Has delivered teaching packages and resources
- Has a good understanding of the school sector and the challenges teachers face

Salary is: £25,500 per annum plus benefits.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week which includes evenings and weekends. This will include working over the Christmas period. Interviews will be held at Mayflower Theatre and include a practical workshop and formal interview.
