- We are looking for individuals to join our team at the Dalgety Bay office that support both the Trials and Evaluation team and the Modeling and Simulation team in the office on a range of exciting projects. Thornton Tomasetti is a world industry leading engineering consultancy where you will be provided with training and support to develop valuable skills and enable career progression to a more senior role establishing yourself as a valued member of the Applied Science team.

The Role
- We are pleased to offer a position as Design Draughtsman to work within our Applied Science engineering and delivery team, based at our Dalgety Bay office. Your main role would be supporting the Trials and Evaluation team and the Modelling and Simulation team on many exciting analytical and physical testing projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Your role would see you involved and assisting in the following activities:
- Creating and updating detailed technical engineering drawings predominantly in the Naval Sector (although not exclusively)-
- Supporting the Test and Evaluation team in developing both simple and detailed test fixtures used to support and facilitate vibration and shock testing.-
- Preparing and supplying detailed fabrication drawings with a view to obtaining quotations for the fabrication of designed fixtures.-
- Interfacing and managing the delivery and acceptance to quality procedures and standards of the fabrication of the test fixtures.-
- Maintaining and updating the existing drawing registers.-
- Support in the maintenance and development of design quality procedures engineering reports and presentations for clients.-
- Support of Modeling and Simulation team in terms of turning CAD design drawings and models into FEA Models ready for input into Analysis packages.Requirements and Qualifications- Ideally the employee will be educated to HNC or HND level or above in a mechanical/ structural or draughting discipline.-
- Experience in working with AutoCAD is essential.-
- Experience in CAD design, with additional training provided as required.- Salary and benefits will depend on skills and experience and include 25 days’ paid leave, sick pay, BUPA health care and performance bonus.
