Manchester, United Kingdom Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the MFT Research and Innovation Team as a Band 6 Senior Clinical Trial Coordinator to cover a 6 month secondment. You will be supporting the Lipids, Hypertension, Stroke, Metabolic and Endocrine research portfolio. The role will be primarily based at Oxford Road with occasional travel to Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital.

You will have sound knowledge of all aspects of research governance and related legislation and inspection requirements (e.g. MHRA, HTA,) and experience of the governance and approval systems within the NHS.

You will need to have a health service background, knowledge and/or experience of research/clinical trials coordination/delivery/monitoring and would like to continue to develop a career in research support, coordination and management.

You will ideally be educated to degree level in a science or health related discipline or have demonstrable experience in clinical trials. You should be highly motivated, able to use initiative to resolve problems.

You will require excellent interpersonal, IT and organisational skills, as well as having the confidence to work independently when required. You will possess a thorough understanding of the governance surrounding research/clinical trials, and use of personal data and tissue samples in research in the NHS.

You will have good communication skills, a team orientated approach and the ability to plan and undertake work in an accurate, methodical and efficient manner. A good eye for detail is essential, as are strong administrative and IT skills.

You will help us to maintain our status as one of the leading Trusts in the UK and have the chance to work with a team with extensive research experience. The Trust is dedicated to supporting its staff, and so you can expect a comprehensive induction followed by on-going training and development opportunities.

COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients from the virus when working in our healthcare settings. Whilst COVID-19 vaccination is not currently a condition of employment, we do encourage our staff to get vaccinated. If you are unvaccinated, there is helpful advice and information available by searching on the ‘NHS England’ website where you can also find out more about how to access the vaccination.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you
