Nursery Cook

Part Time Cook Wanted for Vibrant early years nursery.

We are a warm and nurturing nursery in the heart of the community, seeking an enthusiastic and caring Cook to join our dedicated team. If you have a passion for preparing delicious, nutritious meals for children and thrive in a friendly environment, this could be the perfect role for you

**The Role**: As our Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing of tasty, well-balanced meals and snacks that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our little ones. Meals are prepared from scratch to ensure our children receive the nourishment they need to grow and thrive.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Plan and prepare nutritious, child-friendly meals and snacks following established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of food items.
- Accommodate special dietary requirements and allergies with care and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with the nursery team to understand children's preferences and create enjoyable dining experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of food production and consumption

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- **Experience as a Cook is desirable. Preferably in a childcare or educational setting with knowledge of child nutrition and dietary requirements. But is not essential.
- Ability to work efficiently, batch cook while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Friendly, patient, and nurturing demeanor when interacting with staff and children
- Valid food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one

Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week

- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Chef: 1 year (preferred)
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
- Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
