Our client has newly created this Materials Buyer position to support their current team. They offer hybrid working, with only 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Other benefits of working for our financially stable client are:

Your key responsibility as a Materials Buyer will be to support and provide effective procurement service to the operations team and their client, in accordance with company policies, processes and procedures.

The role will entail planning, supplier management & development, demand & inventory planning, and supporting the operational teams and their client. You would be working independently, but would be part of a team and have regular meetings with your manager, who will be willing to support your growth and help you deliver on set tasks and goals.

In order to be effective in this role, you will need:
Good working knowledge and experience in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
Excellent communication skills, in order to liaise effectively with stores and suppliers.
Ability to support supply chain activities, such as supplier development plans to ensure an adequate supply chain is in place to satisfy materials, services, projects and overhead requirements, while working alongside the operational team(s) and the procurement lead(s)
This role requires independent working, whilst being part of a team, with regular meetings with the manager, who is willing to support growth and aid the delivery of set tasks and goals.
Experience in a Procurement role, particularly at a Buyer level.
Additional experience of managing Procurement activity and working alongside operational teams will also be essential.
Knowledge and understanding of how to use MRP systems.
