**Digital Trading Executive - 6 Month Fixed term Contract - Coventry**

As the Habitat Digital Trading Executive you will manage the day to day trading of Habitat.co.uk. You will be responsible for best in class Digital Merchandising across all Home and Furniture categories, putting actions in place to ensure commercial objectives are achieved. Engaging closely with your commercial colleagues and marketing teams you are responsible for planning an optimal customer journey from a website perspective, ensuring that customers are fully able to browse/shop across our site and find the right products/information that they require to aid conversion and overall sales.

**What you need to do**:

- You will drive successful commercial results by tracking daily the key metrics for the website, looking at run rates for Visits / Sales/ Conversion / Search Trends / Participation and create daily actions to improve these. You will use insight and analysis to drive through new initiatives which focus on the customer.
- Weekly Sales Reporting to the Digital Trading Lead on the performance of the site and categories that are over or underperforming making plans for the coming week.
- Be responsible for best-in-class web merchandising, through effective planning, briefing & review of campaigns, ensuring other digital teams have necessary information in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with the Digital Trading Lead to understand the Digital Trading Strategy for the coming year. Create category plans to align with the trading strategy and contribute to its success.
- Daily communications with Trading on short term goals, and weekly planning meetings to ensure future activity is still on track, and feed relevant information into Digital Implementation Team. Doing this alongside Argos counterparts to ensure we are aligned on business goals
- Completing a regular competitor review and creating and implementing action plans to ensure our customer journey is optimal, and best in class.
- Working closely with Digital Trading Executives across Argos / Sainsburys to ensure best-practise category examples are captured and shared across the business.
- Working with the Digital Trading Manager and using helpful frameworks, identify customer problems or opportunities and solve these through website merchandising and/or customer acquisition activities or initiatives.
- Key day to day relationship with digital marketing, campaign, buying and merchandising colleagues.

**What You Need To Know And Show**
- Ability to demonstrate a clear customer focus in all aspects of role.
- Good communication skills, and familiar with presenting data and insight.
- A sense of the market in which we operate; a good holistic understanding of the Digital landscape and wider retail environment.
- Capable of influencing to a senior level across the wider Digital and Marketing teams & operating companies that constitute Sainsbury's Argos while appreciating the differing cultures & priorities prevalent.
- Capable of securing support for proposals & plans across functions.
- Ability to influence other stakeholders around the business (Trading, Content, Design, Planning, Marketing) to ensure we can achieve the goals we set out, by obtaining all information/deliverables we need.

**What Decisions I Can Make Including Budget**
- Job holder has no direct responsibilities for budgets. However, budget may need to be sought by other teams to facilitate some projects.
- Job holder needs to be aware of financial impacts of decisions and to ensure risks and opportunities are mitigated / flagged to budget holder.
- The Digital Trading Executive has final accountability for the integrity and quality of website merchandising.
- Role will involve measuring the category performance daily, and making decisions on actions to optimise the channels each day.

**Directly Or Indirectly Manages**
- No direct line management responsibility.
- The Digital Trading Executive role will have a cross functional network of internal stakeholders spanning Buying, Merchandising, Digital and Marketing
- Will be required to build relationships & effectively work with stakeholders (both internal and external) up to senior management level.
- Will be required to influence other teams around the business to ensure we can achieve the goals we set out, by obtaining all information/deliverables we need.
