Applications are invited for a part time post (6 PAs) as Consultant in Rheumatology. This is a new post, based Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).

The post holder will work closely with consultant colleagues, junior doctors, nurses, operational managers at QEH Rheumatologyand other members of the Division.

Take part in managerial duties in the Department and Trust.

Undergo annual appraisal and timely revalidation.

Undertake CME/CPD as required by the College, and facilitated by funds from the Trust.

Take part in Clinical Governance as a practicing clinician and to seek to maintain clinical standards.

Take part in audit using the Trust audit facilities.

Teaching and training of junior doctors, medical students, laboratory and other healthcare professionals.

Provide continuing responsibility for patients in the post holder’s care and, in partnership with colleagues, work towards the optimal functioning of the Department.

The post holder may be required to undertake other duties appropriate for a Consultant Rheumatologist not otherwise specified.

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust was established in October 2013, following the integration of Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich. The Trust provides a comprehensive portfolio of high quality acute healthcare services to a critical mass of more than c.526,000 people living across the London Boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich and North Bexley together with a broad portfolio of community services, primarily, but not exclusively, for those living in Lewisham.

The postholder will help to deliver and develop the rheumatology service. An appropriate subspecialty interest will be welcome; an interest in teaching and research is required. See Section 5 (responsibilities of the post) for duties which are divided among:
