Textile Machine Operator

Our prestigious client based in Bury (BL9 Postcode area) is **URGENTLY **seeking 2 Textile Machine Operators to work within their Textile factory, where you will be helping to make fabric products into Airbag systems for automotive vehicles.
**IMMEDIATE STARTS **are available for the right person.
**If you do not have experience within Manufacturing, têxtiles, Engineering or production environments,** **PLEASE DO NOT APPLY, AS YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.**
**Key responsibilities**:
- As a Textile Machine Operator, you be be assisting with the running of various high speed têxtile machines.
- Servicing and maintaining looms with weft and beams, to locate rolls and complete minor repairs as required.
- Servicing looms with full beams and moving empties to rack.
- Manual lifting of raw fabric reels from pallets onto têxtile machines.
- Labelling, weighing and wrapping rolls in polythene and moving the product to Treating storage.
- Maintaining product records using an internal computer system (Full training provided).
- Ensuring the machines have sufficient yarn to keep producing products.
- Performing any additional duties as may be required by supervision.
- Covering weaver’s breaks or absences as required.
- Ensuring that work areas are kept clean, clear and hazard free.

**Skills and experience needed**:
- **ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR SHIFTS - DAYS & NIGHTS.**:
- Excellent health and safety practices and knowledge
- Reliable and enthusiastic.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Able to work to given tolerances and measurements
- An organised team player with strong communication skills
- Keen eye for detail and housekeeping.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Knowledge of weaving processes would be advantageous
- Experience of implementing Lean practices would be advantageous.
**Working hours**:
- 4 days on and 4 days off
- 6am-6pm x 2 days & 6pm-6am x 2 nights
- Working over 7 days, some weekends will be required
**Pay rates**:
- £11.91 per hour.
- Overtime: is available and paid at time and a half and double times at weekends.
