As a future member of one of the School’s research clusters (Design, Engagement and Practice; People, Environments and Performance; Space, Cultures and Politics), you will be working closely with colleagues in your specialist area to develop the international research standing of the School. This will include making presentations to the group, the School and beyond and other dissemination activities, as well as generating significant research impact through your work. You will lead the development of collaborative research projects related to your field. The School is also a UK leader in supporting Architectural practitioners to do research. A willingness to engage in knowledge exchange with architectural and urban design practice to develop research and impact is also a priority.

You will possess a PhD (or equivalent relevant experience) in a relevant built environment discipline, have an interest in interdisciplinary research and knowledge and ability in research-led teaching and managing and enhancing teaching programmes. We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience of exploring the boundaries of architectural knowledges, the futures of architecture, urban design and creative practice, and responses to the climate crisis.

You will join a large and diverse group of research and teaching staff and will have the enthusiasm and commitment to actively contribute to our teaching and research environment. You will contribute to research-led teaching potentially across all areas of the School including UG, MArch, PGT and PGR programmes. You will have the strong interpersonal skills necessary to deliver an excellent student experience.
