Technical Writer / Technical Author - Knutsford

One of the North West's leading software companies, which can boast a global client base with a market-leading set of Products, is looking for a Technical Writer / Technical Author to join them.

Oscar has been in a privileged position to work with them since their early days, placing a number of Software Engineers there down the years and pretty much every person that interviews with them, want the job. I expect this job to be no different.

**The role**
They're searching for a Technical Writer or Technical Author, who's a natural writer, a lover of small details, and passionate about learning new things.

You don't need to have a technical writing background, but you should be able to write accurately and clearly without stressing too much over grammar rules. You're a pro at breaking down complicated topics in a way that people can understand, and you'realways excited about finding different ways to approach it.

Your main responsibility will be creating and updating technical help content for a range of solutions, including self-service guides, task-based tutorials, and reference documentation. You'll work closely with their support team to identify customer painpoints and create additional content to help resolve similar issues.

They're looking for someone with outstanding written communication skills, a knack for explaining technical concepts in a concise way, and an eye for detail. Bonus points if you're interested in software and web technologies.

**The company**

They develop several world-leading security software products. Cyber security is always an evolving threat so their products are complex and the teams are always problem-solving and working out ways to develop new features to stymie those threats.

The firm have steadily but organically grown, both in terms of revenues and also size. They've moved into a purpose-built office a few years ago with capacity to house over 400 people.

Their turnover of staff is markedly lower than the industry average, largely due to the culture but they also want to attract the very-best talent available; think high-end 'Silicon Valley' computer scientists. Of course to attract and retain these people,they also offer a higher than average salary and benefits package.
**Requirements**:

- Excellent written communication skills, with English proficiency equivalent to a native speaker.
- Ability to structure content logically and break it down in a way that's easy to understand.
- Talent for explaining complex technical concepts concisely to both beginners and experts.
- Quick learning ability to grasp unfamiliar topics, identifying key details and important information.
- Strong attention to detail and a drive to always produce high-quality work.
