Orka Financial is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a leading national organisation for 4 months, in order to support year-end preparation.

**What is the purpose of this role?**

The primary responsibility is to assist in monitoring & maintaining the integrity of the management accounts.
The role encompasses the whole spectrum of finance activity, incorporating control of profit & loss accounts (income & costs) as well as fixed assets.
The role will also incorporate credit control for the business.
The role will challenge business performance and provide timely insight to support decisions
The role will seek to identify process improvement opportunities & drive for change.

**Accountabilities - what am I expected to do or deliver in this role?**

You will be expected to build strong relationships with the business and align the finance function with the commercial & operations teams to help support/influence their decision making. You will need to be a self-starter who is committed and motivatedto take initiative. Having the ability to look beyond the figures, and partner pro-actively, providing insights and analysis for correct decision making.

Working alongside team colleagues and other departments or functions, your role will contribute to the following activities:
1 Support/help control the month end close process ensuring accuracy & timeliness
2 Prepare monthly Balance sheet reconciliations ensuring issues identified are addressed.
3 Support preparation of the budget/forecasts & weekly flash > challenge accordingly.
4 Support/assist in preparing the Monthly management accounts > produce cost packs, educate managers investigating variances. Assist calculating accruals & prepayments.
5 Business Partner with other depts/group co’s providing cost analysis & query resolution
6 Control Fixed assets to confirm register is robust, assets are set up/activated & disposed of in an accurate & timely manner.
7 Conduct month end posting validations & post routine monthly journals.
8 Run credit control function for business
9 Inter-co reconciliations & follow up on anomalies > propose process changes to overcome.

This role is a hybrid working pattern, 3 days in the office, 2 remotely.
