A secondary school in South West London is looking for an Attendance and Welfare Officer to join them on a permanent basis. This is a full time role, term time only plus one week. Salary is £26,193 - £26,625 FTE, actual salary £22,709 - £23083

**About the Role**

The school is looking for a passionate, proactive and resilient Attendance and Welfare Officer who will support parents and students to improve whole school attendance through proactive monitoring and intervention.

Responsibilities include:

- Daily monitoring of student attendance, following up with parents and carers with relation to absences.
- Conducting home visits for students who are persistent absentees or at risk of becoming persistent absentees
- To conduct welfare, check visits, as required.
- Working closely with the pastoral team, and parents and carers as required, to identify students who are in need in of monitoring, support, and intervention.
- To maintain accurate records of all actions taken in relation to improving students’ attendance, and ensuring the pastoral team are updated about the nature and impact of interventions.

The successful Attendance and Welfare Officer will be self motivated, empathetic and have excellent communication skills. Previous experience within an Attendance or Welfare role is required.
