**McNairs Building Supplies - Sales Advisor (Trade Centre)**

**Location - Glasgow**

**Salary - £30,000 per annum DOE**

McNairs Building Supplies Glasgow are one of Scotland’s largest independent Builders Merchants and have been providing quality building materials to the trade and DIY enthusiast for 40 years.

Our Kirkintilloch, Glasgow location provides everything you need for any construction project - from foundations to finishing touches, across Central Scotland.

We stock a comprehensive range of building materials and our competitiveness combined with our fleet of 12 delivery vehicles, plus personal attention ensures we provide the very best service to our customers.

**The Role**

Sales Advisor work is predominantly 'face to face' with a mix of trade and retail customers in our large Trade Centre (which includes a Trade Counter, Home Improvement Showroom, and Landscape Centre).

**Key Accountabilities**
- Providing, fast and friendly service and advice to customers
- Handling customers enquiries and orders
- Preparing and following up on customer quotations
- Accurate order processing and payment collection via your own till and desk
- Greeting customers and engaging with them and their projects in order to generate new customer accounts and developing existing ones
- Dealing with enquiries for stock items as well as liaising with suppliers for special order items
- Some merchandising, stock replenishment & general housekeeping within shop area occasionally required

**Skills and Experience**
- Building, timber & landscape materials knowledge ideally with at least 2 years’ experience of working in a similar merchant role
- Knowledge and experience with computers and EPOS systems
- Excellent communication and sales skills with a positive, helpful attitude
- Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative and multi task
