**About this role**
Reporting to the Specialist Technical Fibre Manager, the role holder is responsible for a variety of activities including but not exclusive to, providing for more focus on new recruits and enhanced levels of supervision through managers, patch leads, buddies and team members.
**You'll have the following responsibilities**
Owning the onboarding process and handbook for the CE regional team and ensuring appropriate alignment with Openreach wide policies and procedures
Working collaboratively with the recruitment team on a seamless inboarding experience.
Ensuring all manager leadership days are completed during the trainee leaner pathway. This will include ownership of all AMS safety checks
Ensuring there is an available network of buddying across the regional patch and managing buddy days in accordance with the trainee pathway
Close engagement with the L&D skilling team to ensure a smooth transition from training pathway manager into the regional new recruits pool
Owning appropriate hand offs after an agreed trainee period into the permanent field delivery manager teams
Managing small matrix teams across Openreach, BT, suppliers and customer teams when carrying out CE work.
Negotiating within matrix teams for resources required to deliver successful outcomes as agreed within the Chief Engineers team.
Driving action based activity at pace in order to deliver excellent customer service.
Planning, scheduling and jeopardy managing the workstack that the team are responsible to deliver.
Completing Operational Manager duties for Direct Reports.
**You'll have the following skills & experience**
Provide regular and accurate updates on progress of New Recruit’s Development to the Senior Operations Manager.
Work collaboratively with wider CE Team, FND, SID and CE finance peers to ensure the correct outcomes for Openreach.
Skilled at managing key stakeholders within the CE Region, working to challenging target dates.
Support and coach their team to develop technical understanding within their unit.
Engage and influence suppliers and contractors.
