**About Us**

We milk 240 cows robotically on an all year round calving system processing some milk on-farm, with majority supplied to Roddas. Alongside the dairy herd, all replacements and beef young stock are reared in house. Our arable rotation covers approximately 800ac and includes grass, cereals and maize with most field work completed in house using contractors when required.

Our business is currently undergoing planned expansion meaning we have major investments into growth, efficiencies and animal health and welfare planned and it could prove to be an exciting time to join our team.

As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of dairy farming including both livestock and machinery.

**Job Summary**

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Farm Worker. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about agriculture and eager to kick-start their career in the dairy industry. As an apprentice, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship while gaining practical experience in all aspects of dairy farm operations.

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Learn and assist with daily tasks related to the care and management of both dairy cows and youngstock, including feeding, bedding up, cleaning and health monitoring.
- Gain practical experience in operating farm machinery and equipment under the guidance of experienced farm staff.
- Assist with the maintenance of farm facilities, including cleaning, repairs, and general upkeep.
- Participate in routine health checks and treatments for livestock, learning best practices in animal husbandry.
- Support the implementation of farm biosecurity measures and health and safety protocols.
- Work closely with experienced farm staff to develop skills and knowledge in all areas of dairy farming.
- Take part in training sessions and educational programs to enhance your understanding of agriculture and dairy production.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to get to / from work.
- No prior experience in dairy farming is required. We are seeking individuals with a genuine interest in agriculture and a willingness to learn.
- Enthusiastic and hardworking with a positive attitude towards work and a desire to develop new skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work well as part of a team and to follow instructions accurately.
- A desire for attention to detail.
- A commitment to upholding animal welfare standards and sustainable farming practices.
- You must be signed up to an approved training scheme (we can help point in the right direction if needed)
- Any other relevant qualifications favourable

This is a full time position which would consist of approximately 38 hours per week including college time. Alternating weekend work would be required.

Pay dependant on experience. Happy to discuss over a call but to be agreed at interview stage.

Overtime available for the right person.

Pay: £6.40-£11.60 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
