**Would you like to join a friendly team who strive to provide high quality care and education to children? **St Lawrence Pre-School (North Wingfield), Ofsted rated 'Good' 2023 are looking to recruit a Lunchtime Assistant. The role will involve supporting children to eat their lunch whilst providing a pleasant mealtime. Our mealtimes are social times, where we encourage conversation and promote self care and independence making it a valuable learning experience.

Although a childcare qualification is not required, experience of working with young children, or a wish to begin a career in childcare is desirable. A current food hygiene certificate would be advantageous.

St Lawrence Pre-School (North Wingfield) is a limited company with charitable status that aims to provide care and education through a child led approach with a community connection to St Lawrence Church.

**Main Duties**:

- To support the children while they eat their lunch, making sure tables are clean, and that children have a drink and the appropriate cutlery.
- To communicate with the children, engaging them in conversation.
- To follow food hygiene procedures and ‘safer food better business’ guidelines, knowing and being vigilant of children’s allergies.
- To promote good table manners and ensure standards for healthy eating are maintained.
- To set up and clear away the lunchtime area, before and after the lunchtime period.
- Report accidents/incidents to Pre-School assistants and complete accident/incident forms as necessary.
- To follow and comply with the settings policies and procedures.
- To contribute to other activities that are required as part of the running of the pre-school.
- To undertake any other duties as required by the manager commensurate with the nature and grade of post.
