**We are a independent, family run, traditional bakery looking for a new baker to join our growing team.**
**All of our bread and cakes are made from scratch daily - our bakers use traditional methods including hand moulding.**
**Baker Responsibilities**:
- Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods.
- Clean kitchen equipment and tools before use. Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift
- Testing ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls.
- Bake different bread types, sourdough, cakes and patisserie.
- Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
- Mixing dough for proving (from scratch using outline methods and recipes from our Head Baker)
- Shape dough to prepare different types breads and rolls.
- Recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers (e.g. gluten-free or vegan desserts)
**Baker Requirements**:
- Strong communication
- Attention to detail, especially when performing quality inspections on ingredients and products.
- Flexibility to work around customer demands, including early morning, night, weekend and holiday availability.
- To be able to bake a variety of different products, such as sourdoughs, ciabatta.
- Knowledge of making sourdoughs, ciabatta, yeasted bread scaling, shaping preferred however training can be given.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment Team spirited, with a customer-focused attitude
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters is preferred but training can be provided
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Certification from a culinary school is a plus - but not a requirement.

- Hours - 5 X 9 hour shifts out of 7 (flexibility available) 12.00pm start. 28.5k starting salary
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
