Job Title: Specification Technologist - Food Law Advisor (German Speaking Markets)

Salary range: £45,000 per year

Description:
THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced Advisor to join our team and ensure compliance with legal labeling requirements and retailer policies for our German speaking markets. As a Food Law Advisor, you will play a crucial role in checking and approving specifications and artworks for new and exciting projects. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of food law are essential for this position.

Your role involves reviewing product information, advising customers and suppliers, and ensuring due diligence and compliance. You will be accountable for delivering quality, accurate, and timely risk-based advice, enabling our customers to launch products competitively and safely.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Review product information against regulations and customer policies

Advise customers and suppliers on compliance requirements

Ensure timely project delivery and management

Maintain commercial awareness with a focus on income generation and workload impact

Expand technical expertise in policies and systems used for client work

Carry out various services related to formulation review, regulatory adaptations, specification/pack copy review, artwork review, alignment check, and branded products

Independently manage workload, demonstrate risk-based decision-making, and effectively communicate decisions to clients

Work collaboratively within a team to ensure consistent approaches for each client

SKILLSET / EXPERIENCE Knowledge:
In-depth regulatory and technical knowledge, including codes of practice, policies, and guidance

Good understanding of legal requirements, challenges, and consumer trends related to product information

Stay updated on relevant changes in the regulatory environment

Confident in sharing knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues

**Experience**:
Practical experience using specification or artwork packages

Minimum 1 year of technical/regulatory experience or related field

Fluent in spoken and written English

Fluent in spoken and written German for the German market/region

Demonstrable independent working, workload management, and time management skills

Strong decision-making skills based on risk assessment

Essential Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including IT and presentation capabilities

Ability to explain complex requirements in a simplified manner

Proficient in researching and gathering information from available resources

Open to guidance and adaptable to the commercial environment

Resilient under stress and able to meet tight deadlines
