The Highways Asset Management service within City of York Council is excited to be recruiting key roles to add to a well-established and dynamic team.

The team is focussed on maintenance, renewal and improvement of highway infrastructure assets as well as the city’s ancient monuments.

About the Role

The Highways Maintenance Scheduler is a new role within the Highways Basic Maintenance Team. You will be key player co-ordinating, programming and permitting various types of highways works within the City of York.

Primarily focussed on scheduling highway works orders for Highways Maintenance, making sure they are correctly permitted in time, with our Streetwork’s Team. And with the right level of Traffic Management arranged prior to works commencing on site.

This role will be demanding at times, and fast paced, it requires good organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and ability to think quickly are prerequisites.

This role is varied and involves all Highways Teams it is a career with continued professional development. Training will be given or supported where required, and City of York actively promotes staff development.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
