- Substantive Constables for the Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit based at Openshaw or Claytonbrook Complex.
- Police Safety Trained (PST).

The recruitment stages are as follows:
3. Screen Interview: Screening interviews will take place on the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 15th and 16th of January 2024.
4. Assessment: The one-day assessment will be from 0730hrs to 1600hrs, venue TBC. The dates are 22nd - 28th of January 2024. This will involve a mobile navigational exercise and a fitness test which is the bleep test to level 6.3.
5.Fitness Test: You will be required to attend an assessment centre. This will involve a mobile navigational exercise and a fitness test which is the bleep test to level 6.3. The fitness test will take place at the start of the assessment. If you fail the bleep test you will not be able to continue with the remainder of the process. The assessment dates will take place from the 22nd - 28th of January 2024.
6. Final Interviews: Final interviews will take place on the 29th, 30th and 31st January 2024 and the 1st and 2nd February 2024 which will be held at St John’s Building, 2nd Floor, Sedgley Park, Manchester M25 0JT.
7. Medical - By appointment on direction from the Occupational Health Unit
8. Vetting - On direction from the Force Vetting Unit

Q3. TVIU officers work closely with a number of internal and external agencies on a regular basis. When doing so, the collective goal is to tackle organised crime and other emerging threats to safeguard the wellbeing of the public. Provide an example which demonstrates your ability of building a strong relationship with a public or third sector partner to achieve a mutually beneficial solution.

- To provide specialist support service to Divisions / Departments around the Force targeting & tackling the criminal use of motor vehicles.
- To drive vehicles for royal visits, VIP escorts and category ‘A’ prisoner movements.
