Autism Support Worker

Northwich, United Kingdom Gray Healthcare Ltd Full time

Job Introduction
**Brief Role Description**:
Gray Healthcare has an opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join their team in Whitegate, supporting a gentleman in his 50’s with Autism, LD and Aspiration Pneumonia.

All the people that we support live alone in their own properties and will have their own teams providing 24-hour support on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis.

The person we support has a great sense of humour. He is a very sociable man and likes to talk to everyone. He is very well groomed and smart, loves going clothes shopping and likes a McDonalds drive-through breakfast.

He especially enjoys trips out in the car to visit family, going for walks and watching Homes Under The Hammer

Gray Healthcare are different to most care providers in that that **we are clinically informed**. That means that there is a team of clinicians including nurses, occupational therapists and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) specialists involved in developing the care and approach for each person that we support. This provides more direction to the Support teams; it is an inclusive approach that is proven to work to improve the lives and outcomes of the people that we support.

**Training**

We don’t expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (company induction, systems, meds etc.) followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint-dominant approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you’ll complete shadow shifts.

Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.

**Hours**

We are looking for people to work between 36- 24 hours per week.

We can offer a 36 hour contract = 3 x 12 hour shift from 8am to 8pm plus 2 sleep in's

OR

We can offer a 24 hour contract = 2 x 12 hour shift from 8am to 8pm plus 2 sleep in's
